California Adventure Park

So much is going on in California Adventure Park as Paradise Pier is transformed into Pixar Pier.

Some Paradise Pier rides are temporarily closed - like California Screamin', Mickey's Fun Wheel. Toy Story is open - access it by crossing the bridge just past Pacific Wharf (just follow the signs...). The fabulous World of Color will be back - and the rest of the park is open as usual.

Ariel's Grotto and the Cove Bar are also closed for their transformation into the new "Lamplight Lounge". New gastro pub menu and signature drinks! CLICK HERE for details on the new Lamplight Lounge.

Word is Pixar Pier will be Incredible!! Pixar Pier will be officially open on June 23, 2018. CLICK HERE for Disney's latest on Pixar Pier.

Disneyland Park

The biggest news at Disneyland Park is the addition of the new Star Wars "Galaxy's Edge" park. Words can't describe the sight of these majestic buildings protruding into the sky just beyond Tom Sawyer Island.

A small scale model of Galaxy's Edge is on display at Tomorrowland's Launch Bay lower level. "Galaxy's Edge" merchandise has just been released, if you can get your hands on it (it's selling out almost as soon as it hits the shelves at Tomorrowland shops). Galaxy's Edge will open the summer of 2019 - no specific date announced as of yet...

Meantime, the tracks in the middle of Main Street are officially refurbished.. With a nod to the original theme park, the Disneyland Horseless Carriage and Disneyland Horse-Drawn Streetcars are now operating. CLICK HERE for more on the refurbishment project details.

"Aladdin's Oasis" is now in the process of being transformed into "The Tropical Hideaway". CLICK HERE for more details on this exciting restaurant addition in Adventureland.

Downtown Disney

While the parks undergo construction projects, Downtown Disney has some brand new places you must see - open now!

"The Void" Star Wars Virtual Reality experience is now open - and worth every penny. Make reservations online. Exceptional fun, no motion sickness, unbelievable special effects. You don't feel like a rebel fighter - YOU ARE ONE! Do not miss this.

Splitsville Lanes (bowling and restaurant) just opened across from Tortilla Jo's. Even if you aren't a bowler, this place has tons of restaurant seating - including outdoor and rooftop tables. Something for everyone on their menu - check it out.

The "Disney Home" store is now open - perfect for adult shoppers (can you seriously live without a Mickey Mouse kitchen trivet?!) And don't for get to drop by the new "Disney Dress" Shop - high end duds and decorations for discerning adult ladies...

OK, there is construction in Downtown Disney too. Ballast Point Brewery - is a bar and restaurant addition that is sure to please the most discerning craft beer aficionados. Will open later in 2018. Also coming, the "Black Tap" with burgers and brew. The mega-store "World of Disney" will be undergoing renovations as well.

However, be aware that starting June 2018, construction will initiate at the far west end of Downtown Disney for the new 700 room Disneyland Resort Hotel.   The following Downtown Disney establishments will close permanently June 2018 to make way for the new hotel:  The Earl of Sandwich, ESPN Zone®, AMC Downtown Disney Movie Theatre, Rainforest Cafe and the Starbucks® across from the Monorail entrance.
